Nakay

Nakay (Kankanaey Dialect)= Old Man (Literal English Translation)

"My husband" is the figurative meaning of nakay when the word is used by a married woman as she talks about her family.

"My father" is the figurative meaning of nakay if the word is used by any person as he talks about his/her family.

"Grown up man" is the figurative meaning of nakay when the word is used by somebody who is giving an advice to any male who is transitioning to adolescence.
